Data Detectives: Cybersecurity and the Business of Protecting Your Data

This Salon featured Shue-Jane Thompson, Vice President & Partner, Cyber Security and Biometrics (C&B) Service Line for the IBM Public Service (PS) Global Business Services, and Nicole Gardner, Vice President in IBM’s Global Business Services (GBS) and leader of the Public Services Eminence Academy.

Shue Jane oversees C&B related technology innovation, solution engineering and service delivery for the US DoD, Intel, Federal, State and Local clients. Shue-Jane leads hundreds of highly qualified security professionals, providing advanced cyber capabilities as mission enablement for the nation’s top agencies. She has 30+ years of commercial, government and international technology and business management experience including winning and managing many large-scale IT, cyber, and mission-support programs. Shue-Jane has two Masters of Science degrees, a Doctoral Degree in Business Management, and ABT1 Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences.

Nicole Gardner is a vice president in IBM’s Global Business Services (GBS) and leader of the Public Services Eminence Academy.  She is also a senior advisor and former leader of the U.S Federal Healthcare and Human Services team. In her Fed Health role, Ms. Gardner works with senior leaders from the Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Defense Health Agency and military health system, and the Social Security Administration.
