This Salon featured two former Assistant Secretaries of State, Nisha Desai Biswal and Bathesheba Crocker.

Nisha served as Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs from September 2013-January 2017 where she was responsible for U.S. foreign policy and managing relations with several countries. During her tenure, she focused on strengthening bilateral and regional relationships to enhance the security, stability, and prosperity of South and Central Asia.

Bathsheba was Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs from September 2014 to January 2017. Earlier in the Obama Administration Ms. Crocker was Principal Deputy Director in State’s Office of Policy Planning and Chief of Staff to the Deputy Secretary.
