Passionate Storytelling: Film, Social Justice & Visual Culture

This Salon featured two adventurous filmmakers—Hilary Linder and Montré Aza Missouri.

Hilary combines her knowledge in the fields of international development and humanitarian relief with her passion for non-fiction storytelling as the director and producer of "Indivisible." Montré is a Washington DC native, film studies and cultural studies writer, filmmaker and an Associate Professor in Film at Howard University. She has lived and worked in the UK, Ghana and Nigeria and is passionate about independent film and visual culture.

Montré is Founder and Executive Creative Director of Parallel Film Collective, a nonprofit film organization dedicated to promoting compelling images of race, culture, ethnicity, gender and sexuality beyond mainstream media through the production, distribution and exhibition of independent film.
