Just Do It: Social Enterprise, Technology and the Syrian Crisis

This Salon featured two wonderful storytellers: Bailey Ulbricht, who heads the nonprofit Paper Airplanes, and Sarah Geselowitz, a software engineer at Taskstream-Tk20.

Bailey is the Founder and Executive Director of Paper Airplanes— a nonprofit providing access to professional skills and language training through Skype— to refugees, displaced persons, and others affected by conflict.

Sarah works as a software engineer for Taskstream-Tk20, an educational technology company aiming to improve higher education by providing campuses with tools for self-assessment. She is a volunteer with Paper Airplanes and is launching a Women in Tech program, which creates a space for Syrian women to learn basic web development skills.
